So I'm teaching myself Substance Painter 2 and decided to use the Skyhopper model from my BONNIE animation scene as a starting point. The model in that scene differs quite a bit from this new one and I spent a good deal of time rebuilding the mesh and UV'ing it so that it was optimized for export into SP2. Admittedly, as I learned, I found there was probably a lot I could still learn even in hard surface modeling in general. The goal is to become proficient in the production pipeline from Maya to SP2 and into Unity (or Unreal 4) for hard surface objects like vehicles and props and even environments. Then eventually graduate up to organics and character modeling.
